Frequently asked questions
What is Kontract?
Kontract is an elimination game between friends: no board, no cards — everyone gets a contract with a target, a weapon, and a location. The circle tightens until one player remains.
How many players do you need to start?
Three players minimum, so the chain actually makes sense. Beyond that, the larger the group, the longer and more tense the game. No upper limit.
How do you join a game?
The organizer shares a unique four-character code (e.g. ABCD). In the app, choose "Join", enter the code, and you're registered as a player.
Who chooses the weapons and locations?
The game organizer. They can pick a paper towel, a banana, a sock — or any plausible object — and designate possible locations (library, cafeteria, parking lot…). At start, the system randomly assigns a weapon and a location to each contract.
What happens when a contract is fulfilled?
You declare the elimination in the app. The target receives the notification and must confirm. If they confirm, their old contract is complete for them, and you immediately inherit their target — the chain continues.
What if someone falsely declares me eliminated?
You can reject the declaration: the challenge can go back in progress until the other player succeeds under the rules, or result in a failure depending on the case (time limit, etc.). All attempts are tracked.
How long does a game last?
You set the start and end dates when you open the game. A game can be played over an evening, a weekend, or several weeks. When the deadline hits, the game closes automatically.
Can I eliminate my target anywhere?
No. The contract specifies a given location. If the elimination doesn't happen in that setting, the target can legitimately reject the declaration. That's what makes each contract compelling — and sometimes absurd.
Is my data protected?
The application follows GDPR and ANSSI recommendations regarding privacy and personal data protection. Our development team is vigilant about security best practices throughout the application's development.
When does a game truly end?
Two scenarios: only one player remains — the chain has closed in on them; or the deadline is reached. The last player standing wins the game… until the next one.
